I just learned there is a fan site for Star Trek where amatures have made addtional episodes. So far there are five with more to come. It is called Star Trek the New Voyages or Star Trek Phase II in tribute to the new series that never got made in the late 70's.
The pilot is so so, but I am through the next two and they get better quick with good special effects. The acting is ok. Not only are the actors trying to act, but they are trying to mimic characters other have made. In the first episode I compared the acting to an SNL spoof of Star Trek. Other than the pilot the two shows I have watched so far were really good stories.
