Living in Contra Costa County: Make the California Legislature Part Time!

Make the California Legislature Part Time!

Make the California Legislature Part Time!

There is a petition going about that needs signatures to make the California State Legislature Part Time.  These clowns have destroyed this state and still do not get it.  Hit them where they live reduce their hours like so many other Americans.  Let's take away the state cars and the big staff!  Maybe most of the year they should try and work like the rest of us.  Honestly they seem to have too much time on their hands passing oppressive laws rather than cutting cost and balancing the budget.

Link to http://www.reformcal.com/cms/ and sign the petition.  Please pass this on.

Why on Earth do they need to be anything but part-time?  In fact why does Congress and the Senate in Washington need to be anything but part-time? Our legislature in Florida meets during March and April and occasionally for a special session for a week or 2 during th Fall.  Other than that they are out of session and only get paid a part-time salary.

In addition to making it the part-time job it should be, we also desperately need to clean out the committees and other useless bullshit they have created. Arnold committed to following the Little Hoover report and eliminate up to 1/3 of the existing committee structure but we have more today than when he took office. Some have no job at all other than to see their job continues while others, like the Air Resources Board, have no oversight and are expensively staffed with former legislators and other hacks with agendas. This state needs a good high colonic.

California is the nation's largest state economy, and if California were an independent nation, its economy would be the tenth largest in the world. Its budget is about $1.75 trillion. I can't agree with part-timers running that economy. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer, which is why I'm not in politics. If I knew the answer, maybe I'd be Governor! LOL

With them working part time they could do less damage to the economy.  We are in danger everytime they go to work.
