Living in Contra Costa County: I'm Hunting RINO! Let's Make them Extinct!

I'm Hunting RINO! Let's Make them Extinct!

As the primary season approaches I am looking for honest people with new solutions to old problems; however, not primarily government solutions.  I do not mind tough choices and sacrifice; however, raising taxes is not the tough choice I am after.  Cutting services I can live with, even some of mine.

What I want for loss of "Government Services" is a vibrant and dynamic economy that rewards hard work.  I want a country that I can support my family in.  I want a country with as much Freedom as possible.

I support the TEA Party movement.  I will probably vote Republican, but the real test is here in the primaries.  A RINO is a Republican In Name Only.  One that talks the talk but does not walk the walk.  I will not vote for a RINO.

Today the WallStreet Journal had an excellent article on the "Civil War" in the Republican Party right now.

The establishment provided us with a looser up in the 23rd New York Congressional District in an effort to appeal to moderates.  Moderates and most people are attracted to people with unique ideas and not stuck in a mold, as long as they have integrity.  I do not agree with everyone in the TEA Party, nor do I agree with some people in every regard who I do support.

I California Poizner and Whittman are going at each other pretty strong.  Both are talking tough, but both have questionable patterns of checking which way the wind is blowing.  There is another Republican Candidate for Governor - Larry Naritelli.  I do not know much about him, but I am giving him strong consideration.

Help Stamp Out RINO's!

I am with you Gene.  Did you see the report today on the great health care bill and it's true cost down the road?

Gene...you are on target with many folks;  as I read items on various reports & online sources, many are concerned with locating those candidates who are NOT so self-absorbed that they see no one but cronies & their reflected selves. Sorry about the dbl negative way of saying that many want true conservatives to step up. Personally, this is the time that I will be voting as a Republican--except for our County Exec. IF the Macomb Co. Sheriff does run, then Mark Hackel Jr. [D] is my man for the job.

John - I did not catch it, but I suspect it is huge, not to mention what it means for our health.

Barb- I have no party loyalty.  I just see the GOP as the best hope for reform.

Gene- Mike Castle who is running for Bidens seat is a RINO BIG TIME and he is voting the Tea Party line in congress becasue he wants the seat.  After he wins he will go back to his old ways.

It would depend...  If they are hiding a bunch of libertarian ideas in their pocket, I might like a RINO.  If they are getting ready to move to the Democrat Party because they think they have a better shot at election... not so much.

Gene,

I agree. Thanks for taking a bold stand and sharing this with us. Too many people try just to get elected. :)

Lane,

The type person you describe would be hugely popular. Most Republicans lose because they try to be Democrat-lite. :)

Steve, there are a lot of Republicans that don't like libertarian ideas because they don't really value freedom... A prime example is the "Freedom OF Religion doesn't mean Freedom FROM Religion" movement of a dacade or so ago.  Prayer in school is another example...

Republicans lose for two reasons.  They either move too far to the left, or too far to the religious right...

Steve & Lane,

Good issues.  I am probably from the religious right, but may not be as dogmatic as that sounds.  There is a dynamic tension between government and religion, it was before our Republic and will continue for a long time.  Religion will always be there and cannot be removed.  However, neither can you have an effective government that is theocratic.

My big issue with Libertarians (other than National Defense) is the failure to see the difference between the different levels of government.  A state government and local government is going to have a lot more control in many things the National Government should not.  Is it stupid for the Feds to be paying for midnight basketball programs - Yes!  However, if a local city of community wants to pay for programs to deal with local problems fine.  However, I still think the state government is growing too intrusive too.

As a Christian Lane I find the battle of religion being fought is the same one fought with the Romans 2000 years ago.  Those that do not believe do not understand what we cannot just be part of the overall Pantheon of faith in the community.  However, for those of us that believe we need to be prepared to live as a religious minority in some areas and accept that.

Gene, I agree with you about the state having a role when the feds don't...  I guess that would make me a Constitutionalist...
