So you want to buy a Home this weekend?
Have you gotten prepared?
Here are some things you should do:
- Get Pre-qualified for a loan. No one will look at your offers without this and you do not even know what you can buy without it. Don't just call any lender or wander into a bank. Call me or e-mail me and tell me about your situation and I will send you in the right direction. Some lenders are better than others with certain things and certain properties.
- Go on line and view some of the Fantastic Homes that are available. Send me a list of homes in advance of our going out. I will research them for you and let you know if there are any potential issues. I want to help you narrow down your list so we only focus on the homes that will really work for you.
- Keep an open mind and be flexible. I will also suggest some homes to you and I may show you some neighborhoods or homes that you had not thought of. I find that as people begin to shop and actually see homes their opinion about what they want changes.
- Be prepared to make realistic offers. I want to get you the best price on a home that I can. Many people insist on putting in really low offers, but eventually learn what it takes to get the home they want. Save yourself some time and listen.
- Keep in mind your future. If you plan to be in the home for a long time maybe you want to consider going single story. Those stairs are OK now, but will they be in 10 years? What features will help the resale value of your home?
